Christmas in Claridge

Merry Christmas!!!

I know I'm a little late but now was the only chance that I could get to post this! ;)

I got 1001 pageviews!!!! Thank you all so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had such a wonderful Christmas! I took many photo's of the food but unfortunately it's on our camera and I haven't uploaded them onto this laptop yet! I'll show you my phone photo's though! My grandparents arrived on the 21st and they're still here with us enjoying their holiday!

Joshy was so well behaved! He didn't try to steal any meat! There was just one thing that was too tempting for him, chocolate sponge cake! He tried to take off the cover we had over it but thankfully, I quickly noticed it and took him away!

Curly got some treats and she refused to eat dinner or breakfast the next day! So, I had to force feed her by hand! She wasn't sick or anything because she greedily ate up her treats or biscuits!

Blitzy didn't try to climb the tree although she was keep attempting to chew on the Christmas lights! She wasn't getting that much attention since my grandparents are here and she insists on sleeping on me whenever she can!

I trust that everyone reading this had a lovely Christmas too!

Hot Weather and Happy Days

Hello my friends!

Christmas is only a few days away! I can't believe how quickly another year flew by! I just thought I'd give you a short update.

Our grandparents arrived yesterday and they'll be here for Christmas and perhaps a few days after too, then, normally our cousins come over on the 26th.

Joshy, Curly and Blitzy are so used to the house being full during the festive season. Right now, little Blitzy is sleeping on her table in the sun.

It finally warmed up and summer has kicked in!

Festive Season and Fussy Kitties

Hi friends,

I seriously cannot wait until Christmas!!! It's going to be so special with such special people...Oh and the Christmas tree is up! It looks absolutely beautiful! I would upload a photo but I think I'll keep it as a surprise until Christmas day! ;)

It's strange that's it's so cold still but I pray that on Christmas day it'll be nice and warm.

Curly had another trim and bath and she looks so different now. In a good way, I guess!

Joshy is so independent, he comes in and goes straight to "his" room and sleeps the entire day! My Mum gave Blitzy a little round basket and she loves it!!! It's so cold and her heater is on but she insists on sleeping in her little basket in my room where it's freezing!

This is Blitzy's 3rd Christmas with us but of course, she's only 2 yrs and 4 months old! She was just 4 months old when she had her first Christmas.

My grandparents are coming to stay over for this festive time and then my cousins will probably come on the 26th and it'll be so lovely!

I will definitely upload photo's of the delicious stuff that we'll make on Christmas day and of the tree!

Take a look at the 2 photo's that I uploaded, it's a loaf of delicious bread and some chocolate muffins with pecan nuts that we baked! :)

They're Not Perfect but We Love Them!!!

Hi!!!

Our holidays have started and I couldn't be any happier!!!

The Christmas spirit is in the air and we haven't even put up our Christmas tree yet! I know, I know, it's so late already but with all the renovations going on at home, we just didn't get a chance to put it up!

Curly just had a bath not too long ago and she has already rolled in the mud and gotten dirty! Well, as much as she tries to be a cat, dogs will ALWAYS be dogs!

Joshy is really persistent with this "sofa-sitting' nonsense! There's one other thing that he does which is very naughty, when it's raining, he would meow at the window sending us into a flurry to bring him in, wipe his feet and dry him and then he would race back to the window!!! He stays for just a minute or two! I can't understand what goes on in that little Tabby's mind but I guess that's why we love him!

We haven't taken little Blitzy on a walk for a few days now...shame! Do you remember? We have to "escort" her outside twice a day because the eagles have tried to snatch her up since she's so small! Normally, she really makes a fuss about not going outside but since it's been so cold, she hasn't complained at all! As long as we switch on her little heater, she's as happy as mouse in a cheese factory! Hahaha yes, that was a lame comparison but I couldn't think of anything better on the spot!

Anyway,

Sorry to end off so abruptly but I really have to go now!

Snuggling Up and a Super Warm Poodle!

Hey everybody!!!

It is cold, misty and rainy here!!! It's actually odd weather for December though!

I cannot believe that we're already in December again! There's basically 3 weeks 'til Christmas. Today, my parents bought some beautiful decorations for our fire place. I'll upload some photo's as soon as the decorations are up! Curly had a trim but since this cold weather came, I decided to give her a vest to wear! The end result was....a super adorable little poodle! She looks too cute wearing it and she likes it too!

Blitzy is snuggled up in front of the heater next to her big brother, Joshy. When we adopted her, I thought that those two would never get along and that we'd never see them snuggling together because Joshy didn't like her at first! I'm just glad they're bonding!

Smart Blitzy, Smashing Plants and a Stubborn Tabby!

Hello

The farm looks so lovely! There are new plants growing all around us! It's wonderful to watch them grow and with the all the rain we've been having, they really are growing!!!

Curly has to be constantly told not to step on the plants!!

Blitzy is so cute, she's making a little "hammock" with my room curtain almost everyday! She climbs up through the lining of the curtain and plops herself down on the curtain holder( I can't remember the word for that) but she's still in the lining of the curtain! You can just see the silhouette of her little body! The other day, when I came close to her, she lashed out at me and tried to hit me! She weighs down that rail though!

Joshy is being so naughty and is insisting on sitting on the sofa! We have to constantly take him off but he is very stubborn too! You can take him of ten times and he would return! I got to admit, I do admire his perseverance!!

Curly is going to be trimmed soon, just in time for the usual hot weather at Christmas!

My friend, Renate, who is from Germany has told us a lot about the "white Christmas's" they have there! I don't think Claridge will ever experience snow at Christmas because it's summer here in December!

Hello!

I was just checking the pageview count and it was almost 940!!! Oh my! Thank you so much! I really want to get it to 1 000 so I need your help, tell a friend and make my day!

Christmas is just around the corner! This year has flown by so quickly that I didn't even feel it! I remember posting about last year's Christmas as if it were yesterday. This Christmas is going to be the best one yet!

Our house is looking better than ever and the whole farm has new flowers and all the houses have been painted white! I must say, it looks like a fairytale farm! I'll upload photo's of the houses as soon as I can ;)

The kids are all fine! Blitzy really has grown up, she sleeps a lot more now!

Sadly, I have to end off now :(

Claridge Hunters :)

Hello!

As I'm typing this, a storm is threatening to come and little Joshy and Curly are scared! Blitzy is fine and has cuddled up next to me. Joshy walks throughout the house, meowing and trying to find a hiding place. Curly just follows me wherever I go, she is the most terrified of all of them.

It's been storming a lot here lately! This week has been very hot though and now it seems to be returning to the cold weather. This weather also means hunting time! Joshy always catches many rats, mouses or birds on the rainy days!

Blitzy caught a lizard recently and quite a big one might I add! Normally she just gets the small ones that come into our house sometimes. She caught this big guy nestled underneath a fallen tree trunk! All sorts of insects live there and it must have been paradise for Mr Lizard! Blitzy carried him in her mouth from that tree trunk all the way home with us racing after her! It's quite a distance too! Curly seemed oblivious to it though and was eating grass like a little lamb. Joshy arrived later on but he too didn't notice it and threw himself on the mud and took a quick catnap!

Mr Lizard was extremely fast and sure gave Blitzy a run for her money when she put him down! He tried climbing up a tree but she swiftly hit him with her paw! If I could, I would've uploaded the little video footage I got of the high speed chase! When he calmed down, we got a chance to get an up-close photo of him. He was quite cheeky too! Whenever Blitzy, Caleb or I got close to him, he would threaten to bite us! He did bite Blitzy though but thankfully he had tiny teeth that could do know harm.

My brother Caleb, and I found a crab the other day! In Claridge! Far away from any beach or suitable places for a crab to live! How strange?!

 

 
Anyway, I hope that's a longer post than the last time and that you all enjoyed it!

Birthday Girls and Biting Claws

Hello!

The farm is looking so beautiful with all the flowers blooming and the birds singing, it's pure bliss!

I forgot to mention about two little girls' birthdays! Blitzy turned 2 on the 10th of September (did I post anything about that already?). Then, Roxy turned 1 at the beginning of October! It's so strange to me how Blitzy is older than Roxy! The size difference is tremendous! Hahaha!

Joshy and Curly are both fine! Sorry, this update is reeeeeally short! I'll update again soon!

Fussy Poodle, the Flu and Food Poisoning...

Hey there,

Sorry, this post can't really be long because the power went out here on the farm but I thought that I'd quickly give you all an update!

The kids seem to like the newly tiled floors, well, except Curly, it's too cold for her to lay on since it's been cold outside.

So, I put a little rug down for her to sit on and she's snoozing away right now! That rug is actually for church, she sits on it at church. Yes, that's right, she comes to church with us! It's right on the farm though. ;)

It's been so rainy and cold lately, this weather is so erratic! I've got to admit though, the house is looking so lovely! There are renovations going on around me!

I'm feeling MUCH better thank you but now my Mum seems to be getting the flu :( As I was recovering from it, my Dad bought a lovely lemon meringue but my brother doesn't like it and ate something else instead! Good for him because at 3 in the morning my Mum, Dad and I threw up! I'm glad we got to the bathroom in time! It was awful and so now, it's finally out of our systems! Thank the Lord!

Tiling and Tactful Poodle!

Hey,

I apologise again for the long wait! Our house was so busy!

The tilers from our main mission branch of KSB arrived to tile our kitchen, scullery and 2 bathrooms. So, before they came, the walls had to be chipped and we had to move ALL the furniture out of the kitchen and scullery! It was like we were camping! I had to even prepare the kids food in the lounge!

It was such a lovely weekend! The signal wasn't too good and so I couldn't update sooner and also I had a touch of the flu and it's slowly going away now. The tilers did such a beautiful job!

Unfortunately, I won't upload any photo's just yet because there were so many that were taken and I still have to go through them to see which are the really nice ones! I'll also upload a photo of the newly tiled areas soon.

Poor little Blitzy had to be locked away in her room because it was just too dangerous for her with all the work being done but we did still take her out on her morning walks! Joshy was surprisingly calm and slept in a little and still came in for his food. Curly, however, was so inquisitive!! Every chance she got, she would run out and try to "help" the tilers!! How sweet?!

We were so blessed to get such lovely tiles and tilers to do the job for us! Everyone on our mission pitched in, even the children!

This has been a weekend to remember!!!

Home Sweet Home :) x

And. . . we're back home!!!!

We went for only 5 days but I sure have missed my 3 little munchkins! We got 2 cages because Curly obviously didn't need one. Then, we rushed to the kennels! Curly was confused at first as to who it was but when she did recognise us, she was jumping up and making all sorts of funny noises!!!

We then went to see the other two, Joshy covered himself completely with his blanky and was asleep! When we called him, he popped his little head out and meowed! Gosh, they were SO excited! He was

rubbing up against my hand from behind his enclosure. Little Blitzy was in her basket and she woke up to eat. Apparently she wasn't eating very well but when she saw us, she raced to her food bowl and started eating!

We put them into their cages and set off for home! Joshy was surprisingly calmer but as we reached home, the 3 of them were getting all restless and wanted to come out!

Joshy was a bit scared to be alone outside but he's settled down now and so have the girls! Praise the Lord!

I also took a photo of 2 little dogs at the kennels! They were so cute!

 

Joshy hadn't hunted for so long that he thought Blitzy's little plastic lizard was real and he started playing with it!! Shame!
