A Big Birthday

Hi there!

It was my brother's birthday yesterday and he's had quite a celebration!

My Mom and I baked him a huge Bible themed cake, it's a rich dark chocolate cake with a chocolate buttercream sandwiched between a layer of caramel. It is delicious!! If I do say so myself. ;)
On Saturday, we took him to the Wartburg Hof for lunch, it's such a quaint, little spot. We also went there last year for my Mom's birthday I think, that was during the evening though. This time I ordered a chicken schnitzel, it was so good! Caleb got the Eisbein....their meals are big and the food is really filling, we never finish everything! My Mum and Grand-Aunt had ribs and my Dad had pork strips in a soup with bread dumplings. We had a lot of leftovers which we took home to enjoy the next day. Then, for dessert, my Dad and I had Chocolate Sundaes, my Mom had Malva Pudding with custard and Caleb and our Grand-Aunt had waffles with ice-cream. We shared and could taste a bit of everything. We were super full thereafter, as you can imagine!

That evening, a group of Russian Americans visited Claridge. The Selyukov family brought them, they were actually on their way to the main mission but they stayed over and left on Sunday morning. My Mom and I made crunchies and iced come cupcakes for the visitors.

So, yesterday we went to Spur for breakfast, it's a Native American themed restaurant.....here, in South Africa. ;) Anyway, their breakfasts are delicious, we love it there! My parents would always take us to Spur on our birthdays when we were kids. You can get the staff to sing for you and you get a complementary ice-cream if you're a member of their kids club. We decided to spare Caleb the public celebration since he's not a kid! Later I treated him to some ice-cream at Milky Lane instead, he went for chocolate sauce on his but I got Aero Mint chips on mine.

I think we can safely say that Spring is here and it has brought a taste of summer with it too, it's really hot! It's still windy but it's hot wind. I guess we are never satisfied with the weather! It's either too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry.....etc. We must learn to appreciate and enjoy every season to the fullest.

Have a lovely week!
God bless,
Sele'ha Mikhaila ♡♡♡♡

Vaccination Visit at the Veterinary Clinic

Hey!

I haven't posted in like 2 weeks, sorry about that.
Anyway, last week, we took Curly and Blitzy to the vet for their annual vaccinations. Joshy is only due in November so this was a girls' trip. ;) Blitzy was a lot more calm this time, sort of how she was when she was a kitten. So, I think she is over her last traumatic trip to the vet.  The vet says that Curly and Blitzy are in perfect health, just that Curly has to come for a dental appointment soon. Her teeth are healthy but she has a lot of tartar!

There is now a resident cat at the veterinary clinic, her name is Pepsi. Blitzy's nickname is Peppy and this cat kept coming when I was actually speaking to Blitzy. I guess Pepsi and Peppy sound alike! Pepsi is so inquisitive, she tried shoving her paw through the gate of Blitzy's carrier and that was not received well! Pepsi is really very curious and naughty too, I have a video of her pulling "Thank You" cards off the bulletin board in the waiting area! I've uploaded some photos too.

Okay, I've finished my eagle sketch! I'm happy with the end result. :)
This is sort of an early birthday gift to my brother, Caleb. You can take a look at the photo.

God bless,
Sele'ha Mikhaila Dhew

Here she is, trying to befriend Blitzy

How cute?

Joshy can't even drink some milk without his sisters smothering him.

I just thought this was a lovely photo of Blitzy

A Deceitful Tabby & A Doggy Duo

Well, hello there!

I had a lot of photo's to share with you guys but I narrowed them down a bit so that it's not too many at once!

Well, nobody has seen that python again....he's MIA.....so to say. ;)
I'm still crocheting and loving it though I do have to give my hands a rest from time to time, my right hand is being exercised a lot these days! I have also been sketching again and I've always found it to be so relaxing and stress-relieving....well for me, at least! I'm almost done with a picture of an eagle, I'm excited about this one! I don't recall sketching an eagle before so it's a learning experience too.
I started another sketch on the side line, it's of a creek. I don't usually (if ever) sketch scenery, I don't have a particular reason as to why. I guess I enjoy drawing animals more and the occasional portrait. My Dad is good with portraits though, really good! He recently did one of my Mom, it looks great.

Anyway, now to the news in the animal world...I have some photo's of Kenzo, the big black Labrador. I literally LOVE this dog! He doesn't come as often as before but when he does come, Curly and I enjoy spending some time with him. He has a strict diet so we don't give him any tidbits etc.
This time, however, he was more interested in visiting us than Curly and she was not pleased! She kept trying to get his attention but he was not interested in playing roughly as they are accustomed to. Poor Curly!

My Grandmother was here again for about a week, it's always nice having my grandparents here! Little Blitzy gets spoiled because my Gran spends quality time with her, scratching her ears and so on....usually my Mom is the one who does that with Blitzy but my parents have been super busy these days and so Blitzy just manipulated my Gran into petting her.

Joshy has been catching like 2 or 3 rats per night and for a few days he had been leaving a rat outside my room window, on the deck. He tries to meow softly so that my parents don't hear him and scold him for waking me up at night. However, my Dad always catches him in the act and he never succeeds in getting my attention....just so that I can praise him for being such an excellent little hunter. The other day, he waited until my parents left for work and then he went out and caught a rat during the day! It was mid-morning, he proudly laid it on the deck at my window and meowed until I came to see. Of course, I had to humor him and act so grateful for this "gift" he had brought me. That rat looked so cute though, he was still clutching onto a little stick or something. Shame!

Alright, that's all folks!

God bless,
Sele'ha Mikhaila :D

Josh is definitely not allowed here!

But just look at that face...

I crocheted another pair of baby booties.

Blitzy loves her basket, she insists on sleeping with all her toys in there too.

Curly's hair is so long, we combed it up to see the length! Like a mohawk.

Naughty!

I love this photo of Blitzy
