Sam, Super Busy and Studying

Hello, hello!!

Sorry for the long wait but it's been a busy few days!
Okay, first of all, the "tortoise" is atually a turtle!
We took it to the exotic pet store and they told us it's a turtle! When we looked closely, it was true. My Mum named it Sam because we don't know whether it's a Samuel or a Samantha!! Sam has really become part of the family now. My parents bought him/her a nice big tank, some big and small stones, a pump, heater and a nice colourful light! We'll also get a plant or two. My Dad really likes Sam so, it's sort of his pet ;)

Sam has grown alot since we adopted him/her and now has a white underbelly and a green colour is starting to show on his/her head. Sam eats blood worms and turtle food sticks...yummyyy... :l Hahahaha :)

Blitzy only noticed it yesterday but I think she thinks it's a movie or something. She used to watch wildlife movies when she was a kitten. She hasn't tried to stalk or hunt Sam, instead she just watches!

Joshy and Curly are uninterested though. Curly had a bath the other day and she was feeling so nice and clean! It's winter here in Claridge and we're all trying to keep warm!

We hadn't seen Charcoal, the little grey cat, since February but then the other week he came to visit! His face is gone fatter but he came and greeted us as if it's the most natural thing in the world! That little grey kitty!

The custard apple tree's are bearing fruit now! We've been living here for 4 years and this is the first crop. My Dad had to hand pollinate the flowers but we're sure glad he did! They're getting nice and big though one or two did fall down. We'e covered them because of the monkeys and it seems to have worked.

Our studies are going good, I'm busy reading an 800 page book now....who said studying was easy?!

Anyway, I must end off now! I'll update soon :)

God bless,
Sele'ha

A Baby Tortoise :)

Hello!

This morning, Oom Peet found a baby tortoise in the field. Do you perhaps know what tortoise he/she is? I've got no clue! The photo isn't very clear because he is so small! We wiped him with a damp cloth because he was covered in mud. He is about the size of a 2 litre milk bottle lid. Very small!

Sad News :(

Hi...

I guess I should probably let everyone know what happened with Roxy and the pups. Apparently cats cannot contract this virus. Anyway, we heard about the virus on Friday and then on Saturday, Oom Peet and Tannie Andra nursed and cared for them. They had to feed the pups through a syringe. Our family couldn't be there on Saturday because my Dad was preaching at a service.

On Sunday morning, Tannie Andra took Roxy and her pups to the vet. The vet tested them and told Tannie Andra that they must be put down! We heard that all of them were gone that afternoon....what a shock!!! We were so sad! It's still hard to believe that they are gone. 8 dogs...wow.

We don't know why the Lord let this happen but we do know that He has a purpose and a plan for everything! God gave us Roxy and her 7 pups to enjoy for a season and I'm glad that we had that time with them. Now Tannie Andra and Oom Peet just have Kenzo, Nero, Katinka and Kater (that's the correct spelling!).

The description for Parvovirus is that it is diseased intestines and the symptoms are vomiting, loss of appetite, depression, weakness and other things too. On Monday we took Curly to get her vaccinations against this, Tannie and Oom took Kenzo and Nero. Curly's vet said that Parvovirus usually infects puppies and dogs that are under the age of 2. On Roxy's vet card, it says she was born on the 22nd of September. She was only 1 year and 8 months old :(

One thing I know for sure is that Roxy and her pups made our lives very colourful!! We will never forget them! :')

Thank you all for reading this!

God bless!

Goodbye, Roxy and puppies, we will miss all of  you...

Update

Hi again...

Here are the pups at 6 weeks old. Unfortunately, a "Parvo Virus" broke out and Roxy and the puppies seem to have contracted it. :( We prayed over them and we know the Lord has His hand over them. Kenzo and Nero are fine though. I'm not sure if Tannie Andra and Oom Peet's cats have it but our kids are fine. Please remember them all in prayer! We appreciate it so much!

May Jesus bless you!

I couldn't get a photo of the youngest one, a girl, she was inside with Tannie Andra. The poor little puppy was not well at all. They've grown a lot though!

Big Prizes, Beautiful Puppies and a Birthday!

 Hello!

The puppies are now 6 weeks old! Wow! Time flies! Since I stopped posting photo's at 4 weeks so, here are the pups at 4 and 5 weeks old. I'll post the recent ones in another post. Last Saturday, we went to the show and we went into the crafts hall. We looked everywhere for my cross-stitched picture but to no avail! Then we went upstairs to the second floor and...there it was! It won 1st Prize!!!! Wow! The Lord has really blessed me! 1st Prize! We were so happy! We entered Claridge's jams in too. My parents made some and Tannie Andra made the berry jams. They also did very well! All 5 of the jams that we entered were on display and that in itself is quite something! The strawberry won 2nd Prize, the pineapple won 3rd Prize and the blueberry won 3rd Prize in it's category too!! God is so amazing! We are so grateful to Him for all that He has done! Apricot was highly commended too! On my label, our surname was spelt correctly, "Dhewnarian" but on the jam labels they put "Dhewnarain"!!! We are so used to it being mispelt! People find it hard to spell and pronounce but it's really very simple. Just say Dew-ner-ryan...Dhewnarian!!! Easy, right?! I thought so!

My birthday was on Tuesday, the 27th of May! I had such a lovely day! I share a birthday with my grandmother and my grandmother's sister! Yes, that's not something you hear everyday! Hahaha :) I received many gifts from my parents and Caleb too.
On the evening of my birthday, the girls from Bible House came and sang for me and brought gifts from everyone at Bible House! It was so thoughtful! They are my "sisters" in the Lord! Bible House are family to us :)

On Wednesday, I received some beautiful cards and gifts from Renate, Katya, Lungi (a lovely Zulu girl who used to stay in Claridge but is now studying at the mission) and also from Tannie (Auntie) Teresa who works at the college with Katya. I am so blessed to know such wonderful people! I was ecstatic! There was Bible Study on Wednesday too!

On Thursday was Ascension Day but it's been removed as a public holiday here. Anyway, there was a service which was so lovely! It was blessed!

I really enjoyed this week and now, I have to end off!

God bless!

More Updates :)

The Royal Agricultural Show will start soon and I entered a cross-stitched picture that I did! It's of Curly in our yard during Autumn. --->
This photo is really blurr but I'll take a better photo as soon as I get it back from the judges! We don't know the results yet! I love to cross-stitch! It can be tiring but very worth it!

Below is a photo of Birdie! Do you know what bird it is? Some sort of parrot?

There's also a photo of our 3 kids in front of the heater, it's so cold here!

God bless,

Can you spot the fake kitty?? Hahaha Blitzy thinks she's an ornament like those 2 cats!

This is Joshy's new bed although Blitzy is lounging on it here!

Puppy Learns From Papa :)

Hey!

Yes, you are hearing from me quite soon! Anyway, the puppies will be 4 weeks old on Friday night/Saturday morning and I thought I'd just post some photo's now in case I don't get a chance to update then. Okay the first photo is of Kenzo drinking water, then, the puppy watches him and lastly, he learns and drinks the water! How cute?!

 Biting my shoelace!
This little girl refused to play with her siblings and stayed in the dog house!
