Quick Update

Hello :)

I just wanted to quickly update you all on my Mum's situation. By God's grace, the doctor allowed her to be discharged from hospital! Today, we brought her home! At first, the doctor was sceptical but, he finally agreed. On the 12th, my Mum will go for the CAT scan because it was fully booked before that.

Curly was so happy to have her "Mum" back! We even bought her a Russian sausage as a treat ;)

I will update again soon :)

God bless,
Sele'ha

Doctors, Digging and a Dassie?

Hi everyone!

I haven't posted for a bit, I know but...my Mum was in hospital and it was busy.

My Mum was admitted to hospital on Monday and is still there today. The doctors confirmed that she in fact has Epstein Barr Virus. It's an American virus and was probably contracted at the main mission in Kranskop because my Mum hasn't been around any other international visitors beside there. Anyway, we trust in the Lord for her healing.

Curly really misses her "Mum" because Mum spoils her all the time. I got to admit, I can connect with Curly. Nobody can replace your mother!

There's nothing new with Joshy and Blitzy. Sam the turtle is enjoying his home and is developing a lovely personality! The other day, a baby rabbit was found in the fields. Our neighbours are looking after it. Not too long after that, another rabbit was found but this time, it was a bigger one. Sadly, this 2nd one died...they don't do well in captivity. The construction workers are putting in a new water pipe and so they dug through the soil and it must've broken these little bunnies homes and I guess they were forced to move higher up. Our neighbour says the rabbit is a "Dassie".

Anyway, we are off to visit my Mum in hospital now, so, goodbye!

God bless,
Sele'ha Mikhaila

PS. Sorry, no photo's! :(

Beautiful Flowers and a Big Turtle :)

Hi everyone!

I meant to upload a post yesterday but the signal wasn't too good and I had many photo's to put up. So, by God's grace, I could upload them today.

The kids are doing well, Blitzy really has become more independent now. She's in her own room and doesn't follow me everywhere like before! Joshy is constantly in sleeping in the room my Mum's aunt sleeps in and he likes her very much!! Nothing new has happened with Curly really.

Please also remember my Mum in prayer because she has glandular fever, I had it too but I'm completely fine now by God's grace. Oh! Curly is Mum's little nurse now, she sleeps at my Mum's side on the floor every night and she wakes up if my Mum turns over or something.

Sam the turtle is growing and growing and still eating a lot! My Dad always falls for those shiny, little eyes and tosses another food stick in! His colour is so beautiful though and recently, we bought him a nice little plant which he enjoys very much! It's not real but he likes to nestle himself between it. It's too much work to keep saying he/she and, I think it's a male so, I'll just say "he". ;)

Anyway, I'll try to post again soon! :)

God bless!

Below are some photo's of the flowers that are beginning to bloom here in Claridge, spring is just around the corner!

Kenzo :)
This is our house and this part is actually the front but we always enter through the back because the main road enters from that side! So our "front" door is actually our back door and vice versa. ;)

The next few photo's are of the beautiful orchids that are grown here! Look at all those colours! We are so blessed to have them here.

Short Update :)

Hello everyone,

See, I’m being faithful with my post updates!

I’ll try to update again soon because I don’t have much time now. I do have a couple of photo’s though!

Thank you all for reading my blog even though I sometimes keep you waiting a while for a post, which is not good.
This year has been busy but I know that’s no excuse.

Today is National Women’s Day and it’s a public holiday here in South Africa!
Oh and….please keep my Mum and I in your prayers, we have the symptoms of “glandular fever” but we trust in the Lord.

Anyway, I’m ending off now J

God bless,
Sele’ha Mikhaila

ps. The first photo is of Curly and Blitzy outside, the second one is of Blitzy on the bed cover that my Mum sewed and the last photo is of the poles that will be put into the ground soon for the plants.

The Loooooooong Wait

A long awaited "HELLO!!!!!!!!"
I don't know how to explain how sorry I am for making you wait SO long for a post!! A whole lot has happened during this passed month that I didn't update you on.

Okay, first, there was the youth conference at the main mission of KwaSizabantu and they had a 40 year celebration of this conference! It was such a blessed time and I stayed over at the mission for a week, sharing a room with Katya :) My family came almost everyday for the services but they travelled from Claridge since the mission was so full with people staying over. On the weekend there were about 12 000 people attending the services. It really was something special to attend. If you would like to read about it and about the mission please go to www.ksb.org.za    and you're sure to find all you need to know.

Anyway, when I came home, Curly, Blitzy and Joshy were so excited to have me back again! Then, not too long after that, my parents went on vacation for a week! We all were supposed to go but we decided to give it to them as a 20th wedding anniversary gift. They went to the Drakensberg! I hear that they had a wonderful time and even went on mountain hikes! We also had a lovely time at home. I don't know if I mentioned this before or not but my Mum's aunt is here with us now.

The kids are doing well, Joshy has moved completely into the room where my Mum's aunt is staying in. He has creeped into her heart and has refused to leave, I'm happy though because I felt bad that Blitzy and Curly seem to always get attention and with Joshy, you have to give him all of your attention or none at all!

Sammy the turtle is enjoying life, getting rounder and rounder! He has grown a bit and has also gone fat! He is just like Curly. always anticipating the next meal. I don't know if Blitzy scared him or what but now every time we come toward the tank, he/she gets terrified and tries to swim away or hide. Oh! There is a lady who is now living in Claridge she's from the main mission and guess what's her name? Sammy! Yes there are now 2 "Sammy's" on the farm! How funny!
Our studies are going good by God's grace, I finally finished that BIG book and did a report on it. I also finished another assignment yesterday.

My Dad is busy with a project in the house, he is extending our built-in cupboards to the ceiling, usually that's how high they should be but I don't know why these were not like that. Anyway, my Dad has done most of it and he just needs to put the doors on and paint it! God is so good!

Oom Peet and Tannie Andra have gone to America for a month, they've already been gone for a week and we are pet-sitting! I love it though! Kenzo is so affectionate, jumping up on me and rubbing his big head against me! So cute! Oh and the student teachers from Cedar College at the main mission, came for their practice teaching here. It is for 3 weeks and they've been here for 2 weeks already. There are 2 Zulu girls (one girl, Lungi, lived here in Claridge before), one Afrikaaner girl and 5 Korean girls. We've met 2 of them before.

Now.......I think that is a loooong enough post?

God bless,
Sele'ha  Mikhaila

Sam, Super Busy and Studying

Hello, hello!!

Sorry for the long wait but it's been a busy few days!
Okay, first of all, the "tortoise" is atually a turtle!
We took it to the exotic pet store and they told us it's a turtle! When we looked closely, it was true. My Mum named it Sam because we don't know whether it's a Samuel or a Samantha!! Sam has really become part of the family now. My parents bought him/her a nice big tank, some big and small stones, a pump, heater and a nice colourful light! We'll also get a plant or two. My Dad really likes Sam so, it's sort of his pet ;)

Sam has grown alot since we adopted him/her and now has a white underbelly and a green colour is starting to show on his/her head. Sam eats blood worms and turtle food sticks...yummyyy... :l Hahahaha :)

Blitzy only noticed it yesterday but I think she thinks it's a movie or something. She used to watch wildlife movies when she was a kitten. She hasn't tried to stalk or hunt Sam, instead she just watches!

Joshy and Curly are uninterested though. Curly had a bath the other day and she was feeling so nice and clean! It's winter here in Claridge and we're all trying to keep warm!

We hadn't seen Charcoal, the little grey cat, since February but then the other week he came to visit! His face is gone fatter but he came and greeted us as if it's the most natural thing in the world! That little grey kitty!

The custard apple tree's are bearing fruit now! We've been living here for 4 years and this is the first crop. My Dad had to hand pollinate the flowers but we're sure glad he did! They're getting nice and big though one or two did fall down. We'e covered them because of the monkeys and it seems to have worked.

Our studies are going good, I'm busy reading an 800 page book now....who said studying was easy?!

Anyway, I must end off now! I'll update soon :)

God bless,
Sele'ha
